My First Album

My first album, “I Better Not Quit My Day Job” was self produced a couple years ago.

Songs from the album are hosted on Reverbnation.  This button will take you there … Thanks!

Welcome!

Hi there. My name is Jeff Broadhead. I’m a father of eight kids, a lucky husband, an optometrist, and a musician just for fun.

I grew up playing my dad’s country band, where I started as his drummer at the age of 11. Over the years I’ve written a number of songs, most of them with the intent of celebrating happy memories of a blessed childhood. My parents and grandparents are heroes to me.  When I find my creativity flowing, it almost invariably has led me to pay tribute to them in some way.

I once tried to sell my songs to a producer, and I learned that the music business is all about “what sells.” I’m sharing this album independently with the goal of providing something uplifting … and even if nobody likes it, “I’ll just sing to make my momma cry and my daddy proud!”

I Better Not Quit My Day Job

“Frog Kissin’” is a song I originally heard recorded by Chet Atkins.  It’s one of my favorites.  Enjoy!

More About Jeff

The title to my album is “I Better Not Quit My Day Job.” It’s a tongue-in-cheek nod to the fact that my music isn’t probably “what sells.” So I haven’t quit my day job. I actually like my day job. I’m an optometrist and entrepreneur. “Good thing I like my day job!”
